- AFCON 2019:South Africa, Zimbabwe, DRC, Tanzania, & Benin quality as campaign wraps up:
South Africa became the 24th and last country to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after a 2-1 win over Libya in Sfax, Tunisia on Sunday. Along with Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Benin, the Bafana Bafana swept up the five remaining spots for the finals in Egypt on the last day of the qualifying campaign. Zimbabwe edged the Republic of Congo 2-0 in Harare to top Group G while DR Congo beat Liberia 1-0 in Kinshasa to secure second spot.
- Climate Action: Lagos-based ‘We cyclers’ wins African Development Prize:
A Lagos-based waste management start-up, We cyclers, was on Wednesday March 20 awarded the King Baudouin Foundation African Development Prize for 2018/19.The announcement was made in the offices of the start-up on the occasion of the first day of the Silicon Lagoon Mission. The € 200,000 prize will assist the local start-up to further develop their business and increase their impact at national and global levels.

- Gabon: Bongo returns home after rehabilitation in Morocco:
President Ali Bongo Ondimba flew home to Gabon Saturday after several months in Morocco recovering from illness. He flew back into Libreville on Saturday afternoon, accompanied by his wife Sylvia, to be welcomed by Prime Minister Julien Nkoghe Bekale and senior members of the government.
